2014 Rapha Women's Prestige, West Coast Edition
Over the last few weeks I have been gearing up to join 5 of my other Rapha teammates for the West Coast Rapha Women's Prestige in San Fran. Well, the week is upon us...
What is the Rapha Prestige? It is like a Gentlemen's Race, however, all women. There are about 20 different teams, all comprised of 6 strong cycling babes from all walks of life. The race is unsanctioned, and un-supported...yes, that means carry all of your own crap - change all your own flats and follow the directions on the cue card. This years Rapha Prestige will be a mix of asphalt and gravel, I am really looking forward to pushing Deliliah the Domane during this event through the bay area. You start as a team, you finish as a team.
The Rapha Women's team will be made up of myself, Meredith Miller, Julie Krasniak, Cynthia Young, Lindsay Knight and our fearless team captain Abby Watson.
Yesterday evening we received the course profile, we will be rolling approximately 109 miles with close to 11K of climbing. Who's having fun now?
After experiencing my first gentlemen's race back in the fall, I automatically think: hydration, food, smiles and extra tubes! Our friends at Conti have graciously helped our team out with some slick new 4-Season tires for the race and a slew of tubes.
In order to properly prep for this race...it is time to paint my nails :)
