Relax and Take Notes...

Lets be frank, I have always grown up a semi-tomboy - Barbies were super cool, especially my Little Mermaid doll, before my sister was born but at the end of the day I preferred painting, swimming, trying to ride my bike, skating, skiing, etc. I was never ever the 8 year old (or at least that I recall) that kept a journal - I did convey feelings through drawing, clay and other ultra cool/ultra expensive soon to be all over the floors and walls methods.
I guess that when I first started my blog I thought you know what is going to be cool? Looking back on this in a few years - don't get my wrong I LOVE going back to 2008 and reading what I had to say, but, there are somethings that I don't always want to put on my blog that I do want to catalog. I like to think that if I file them away in my brain that I will somehow recall them down the road. Let's be real, since I started my grown up life last year there are days I can barely remember my name...
My grandmother is one of the most amazing women I know - she has been writing in a diary/journal for years and years, it didn't really occur to me how amazing this is until recently. 20 years from now I am going to be able to look back and see what she did or how she felt that specific day in the past. She has inspired me to start cataloging my experiences in well...a more personally way. I want to be able to give my children and (goodness, shall I say it...) grandchildren down the road so they have a better sense of who I was. Therefore, I took the plunge, I am going to start a journal/diary/memory book. We all know that Amazon is full of totally amazing products that you can't find anywhere else, after reading a fellow bloggers suggestion on the One Line A Day: A Five Year Memory Book I purchased not just ONE but TWO - okay, lets be real...I only ordered one for myself the other one is going to someone else special in my life. I figured that this would not be a full blown commitment of trying to write an entire page per night, but rather a QUICK sentence of what important happened during that day. Maybe in 5-years I will be ready for a full blown journal?
So - I am raising a glass tonight to trying to grow up a little more and follow the footsteps of my very inspirational Grandmother; savoring life and sharing it with others in the future.

Sending love from SoCal!
